We are all influenced by something. As a songwriter, sometimes it's nice to try and get inside somebody else's composition to find inspiration. To live inside the chords, melodies, lyrics, arrangements and whatever little weird moments peak out that maybe remained hidden upon passive listens. It's a fun exercise, and one that can ultimately help expand the palette and lead to some discoveries along the way.

Every one of the songs covered here I am jealous of - every one of these songs I wish I wrote. Some of them are songs I've loved all my life. Others are recent discoveries. Some are tunes that I've been asked to cover, but felt weird about (but said fuck it and did it anyway). As always, I hope I did them justice, holed up in my little basement studio with only a couple mics, amps and instruments to guide me. Oh and Googling lyrics on YouTube and repeated listens on Spotify. I have to admit some of these I tried to do mostly from memory, so parts, arrangements, whatever are kind of just however my brain told me to perform these. They aren't perfect...but nothing is.

Hopefully you are jazzed by my version of an old favorite or turned on to something you've never heard. Either way, as always, thanks for listening.
